Dr. Brosky is a licensed psychologist who earned a Doctor of Psychology degree (PsyD) in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology. She advances her knowledge in her field through continuing education courses.

She has certification in clinical hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR International Association. She conducted research examining the prevalence of trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and dissociation in court-referred adolescents. She presented her research at the annual meeting of the International Society for the Study of Dissociation (ISSD) in 2002 and published her research findings in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence in 2004.

As part of her doctoral program, she received additional training from the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, DC; Whitman Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia; and the Northern Virginia Family Service. She completed an APA-approved, predoctoral internship at Crownsville Hospital Center, Crownsville, Maryland. Dr. Brosky served as staff psychologist with Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and as a senior clinician at the Woodburn Center for Community Mental Health. She has advanced training in forensic evaluations from the Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. She has experience at community health and community mental health centers, inpatient hospital settings, adult forensic centers, and in full-time private practice.

Dr. Brosky’s diverse experience is helpful in her clinical practice. She understands the business world from having worked in the corporate high-tech business industry. Prior to that, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from California State University at Los Angeles where she was invited to join Kappa Delta Pi, a national honor society in education. She taught children and adolescents with learning and emotional problems.

Dr. Brosky’s leadership in professional associations includes currently serving through 2019, as Vice President of the Northern Virginia Society of Clinical Hypnosis (NVSCH), a component section of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). She also served as Secretary (2008-2010) and Treasurer (2006-2008) to the Northern Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists of the Virginia Psychological Association.

She is a member of the American Psychological Association and its Psychological Hypnosis and Independent Practice Divisions and has belonged to its Health Psychology Division. She is a member of the Virginia Psychological Association, the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). She is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and the Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH) as well as a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
